Fundraiser Terms

Plain English, with the legal parts kept short. These govern every Greenlight drop.

The short version. You buy a shirt. A fixed amount per eligible shirt goes to the production after the return window. Not a donation, not tax-deductible. An adult organizer is responsible. Schools are only involved if they choose to partner.

1. Eligible units

A unit is "eligible" when the order was paid in full, the item was shipped, and the item was not refunded, canceled or charged back within the applicable return window (currently 30 days from delivery). Units that fail any test are excluded from the production's earned total.

Contributions are a fixed amount per eligible unit stated on the product page and on the campaign page. They are not a percentage of price and are unaffected by promotions.

2. This is not a donation

Supporters purchase merchandise from Crew Call Clothing. The contribution is a commercial commitment by Crew Call to the production, funded from the sale. No gift is made by the supporter, no charitable receipt is issued, and no amount is tax-deductible. Campaign pages, product pages and checkout carry this disclosure.

3. Payout timing

Contributions on shipped units are "held" during the return window and become "available" when it closes. After a campaign ends, Crew Call runs a reconciliation netting out refunds and chargebacks and fixing the final eligible count. Payouts are approved by Crew Call Finance and sent to the verified payee, typically 30–45 days after the campaign closes.

Payouts are made only to a payee verified through our onboarding provider. A campaign cannot be paid until onboarding is complete.

4. Refunds and reversals

If a supporter returns an item, the contribution for that unit is reversed before payout. If a reversal occurs after payout (e.g., a late chargeback), Crew Call may offset it against the production's future payouts. Crew Call will never invoice a production for a reversal.

5. Organizer relationship

Every campaign is run by an adult (18 or older) organizer who represents the production, confirms they are authorized to receive funds on its behalf, and attests to ownership or license of all artwork and media. Students may be credited as cast and crew but are not parties to these terms.

The organizer is responsible for using funds for the production purposes described on the campaign page. Crew Call does not control or audit spending but may suspend a campaign for misrepresentation.

6. Schools and School partners

Naming a school in the directory does not make the school a party to the campaign, a payee, or an endorser. A school becomes a "School partner" only when an authorized employee claims the school and signs the name/logo permission and payee agreement. School marks may be used on merchandise only under that agreement.

7. Content and conduct

Crew Call reviews artwork, media and copy before launch and may decline anything that infringes rights, depicts minors without consent, or conflicts with our content standards. Campaign pages may be edited by Crew Call to correct disclosure language.

8. California note

Crew Call Clothing is based in California. Because contributions are commercial payments by Crew Call rather than solicitations of donations, Greenlight is not structured as a charitable fundraising program and Crew Call does not act as a commercial fundraiser for charitable purposes under California law. Productions that are themselves nonprofits remain responsible for their own registration and reporting. Nothing here is legal advice.

9. Taxes & payouts

Purchases are merchandise. Sales tax applies where required and nothing about the purchase is tax-deductible. "Back a project" is support paid to the production, not a donation to a charity, and it is not tax-deductible either. Crew Call issues no gift receipts.

Payouts go only to a verified adult (18+) organizer or to an organization (school, club, nonprofit or company), through Stripe Connect or by ACH/check arranged with Crew Call Finance. Student personal accounts and peer-to-peer apps such as Venmo, Cash App or PayPal handles are never payees.

Contributions and gifts received are income to the payee. Crew Call collects a Form W-9 before the first payout and issues a Form 1099-NEC to any payee whose payouts reach $600 or more in a calendar year. Schools and nonprofits still provide a W-9 to document their status.

California: because contributions are commercial payments by Crew Call and not solicited donations, Greenlight is not a charitable fundraising program and Crew Call does not act as a commercial fundraiser for charitable purposes under California law. Payees remain responsible for their own state and federal reporting. Nothing here is legal or tax advice.

10. Changes

We may update these terms for new campaigns. A live campaign keeps the terms it launched under.
